Web Rule demo projects

Web Rule demos are Visual Studio 2010 projects designed to give you a starting point in your learning of business rule authoring with Web Rule. Both projects use the Free license of Web Rule, version 2.0.1.4.

Download and install the ASP.NET MVC 3 Tools Update if your copy of Visual Studio 2010 doesn't have MVC 3 templates and run-time.

The Ajax functionality in both ASP.NET and MVC demo projects uses jQuery client framework (to post data to the server) and json2.js script (in case you are running the demo in IE with Compatibility Mode on). The use of both scripts is a subject of their terms and EULAs. Web Rule itself does not depend on any third-party client library.

By downloading or otherwise using any file from this website you agree to be bound by Web Rule's Terms and Conditions whether or not you are a registered user of any of the Code Effects websites.

IMPORTANT! The ASP.NET demo is not a VS 2010 Web Site - it's a VS 2010 Web Application project. Follow the instructions below to open, build and run this demo if you are not familiar with web applications.

  • Click the CodeEffects.Rule.Demo.Asp.zip link above, download the file and unzip it anywhere on any of your local drives.
  • Double-click the CodeEffects.Rule.Demo.Asp.csproj file. This should open the project in your Visual Studio.
  • Right-click the project node in Solution Explorer and select the "Build" option. Visual Studio should ask you to save the solution file. Do that.
  • When VS successfully builds the project, press Ctrl-F5 to run it. Your browser should display the Default.aspx page.

Please contact us if you are having trouble running these demos or have a Web Rule-related question or feedback.
